Cross model parts compatibility
 

I just got my hands on a nice low hour 1772 (woohoo!!), and am eyeballing a pretty cheap 2086 that's missing the deck and has 'wiring problems'

I'm considering grabbing that 2086 to keep around as spare parts for the diesel 1772, it's almost worth it for the mud tires on it (pretty sure both use 26")

Would a lot of parts on the 2086 fit the 1772 such as the transaxle system, cylinder, steering box, sleeve hitch, etc etc?

You can click on the tab at the top of the page that says "Cub Cadet Parts and Service Lookup". Type in the model of Cub Cadet that you have interest in (ie: 1772), and it will bring up all models (if multiple, with serial number ranges). Once you narrow it down, click on that model and it will bring up parts sections (or assemblies) for that model. Make note of the parts and part numbers. Do the same for the second model. If the parts you are interested in "match", then they will swap.
