Snowblower fitment
I have an 1810 hydro and was wondering if a snowblower off of a 1650 would fit on it?
|
First, welcome to OCC............ :Welcome2:
The snowthrowers for the 1650 were QA36A and QA42A. They incorporated a 3/8" Drive Belt for their system. The 1810 used the QA36B and QA42B snowthrowers, or the 190-450-100 Snowblower. The QAXXA can be converted to work on the 1810 by changing the Drive Pulley to the 5/8" size, and the Upper Mounting Link. |
Thanks for the reply I appreciate it. Is there a way to tell the difference between the A and B? The one im looking at online is missing the model number it only has the serial number.

Again, the differences are:
(a) the A version has a 3/8" drive pulley and the B version has a 5/8" pulley. (b) the A version uses a 3/8" drive belt, and the B version uses a 5/8" drive belt. (c) the A version has a straight upper link, and the B version has a curved upper link. The B version upper link looks like this: |
Let me add that the gear box pulley can be easily changed to what one needs,
As well as the upper links can be substituted for what one needs. Or If the upper links are straight, they can be modified to work, providing one has the tools needed to do so. Clear as mud? :bigthink: |
Ok, I got the blower its attached but I need to get a drive belt. How do I determine the year of the tractor? I'm assuming its in the serial number but not sure which number it is?
|
The year of the tractor has no bearing on which belt it uses. In "some" cases, it is based on "serial number range". That model was produced between 1985-1989.
The 1810's serial tag is normally located on the frame by left hand foot pedal. It should look like this: 14X-(682 or 650)-100. Take a picture of this tag and post it. We can narrow it down when this tractor was built. Since the 1810 is the same as his older brother the 682, except for the Kohler M-18 engine, the correct drive belt for a 682 w/QA36B snowthrower would be: IH-78056-C1 |

This is tag on the tractor!

Your 1810 is a 1986 tractor.
