Snowblower Chute Swap
I have a nice snowblower for my 3240 but it has a plastic chute, which is already cracked/damaged by the previous owner. I'm looking for ideas to swap it over to a metal chute. Has anyone done this? And what issues did you run into?
I have a complete Ariens snowblower for parts that I can take the chute from. |
after countless plastic chute replacements on my SGT I used a JD chute of similar proportions. I welded it to my swivel base ring on the cub cadet blower.
I recall paying less than 30 dollars for the used chute on ebay. I have never attached a cable for the chute height adjuster since I never used it on the cub cadet chute either. it must be at least ten years with out a chute problem - I kept a stock of the crappy plastic ones they broke so often - I dont think this is an issue for people that have paved or concrete drives |
I found the chute I purchased "John Deere 8hp Snowblower METAL CHUTE AM123460" it was 19.50 including shipping 7 years ago it fit perfect on mine.
Just looking at them on the "bay" there are some that may not even need a ring welded on - |
