1772 Diesel Coupling Assy
Happy Holidays and thanks for your help. I bought my son (14) a 1772 two years ago to learn and play with. We love it! He uses it to dig us and all the neighbors out of snow.
He broke the drive shaft coupling assembly on the hydro stat pump side plowing snow yesterday. The tractor is stuck in a snow drift at the moment but it looks like a clean break off of the coupler. The splines on the pump look good. We'd like to do a full upgrade to the shaft someday but need it operational asap for the winter as another storm is heading this way. I am hoping the transmission and pump are not locked up. It looks like there was some play in the shaft that caused the splines on the coupling to grind down. I noticed you can spin the clutch around the shaft without the shaft spinning is that normal? There is also some play in the shaft on the engine side, is that normal? I am hoping we can just order a new coupling and get him back in business. Any advice, instructions or suggestions you guys have is much appreciated. Thanks again, this site is awesome, Ben and Tim Eckenrode |
I will dig around and see if I can find one. I should have one. Post a picture if you can to make sure we are thinking of the same part,

First, welcome to OCC........ :Welcome2:
I am not totally familiar with that "drive line", thus I will have to rely on someone who is. |
