Hello from Missouri

I am a new owner of a XT1-LT42E and I was wondering if anyone could help me with a couple of issues - battery charge and speed.

Thanks

Max

The mower speed is hard to control goes from stop to high speed without much effort and the battery charge does not last that long.

I have had it in once already because there were wiring problems with the PTO.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

Hey Max, welcome.
Not familiar with your machine but can help you along here.
You will need to help folks here help you.
Information is needed.
Is this a new machine? What have you done to solve it. How old
is battery? The more information you provide the better help
you will get.

Well, welcome to OCC!

The XT1-LT42E is a new completely electronic Cub Cadet. Unfortunately you aren't the only person to have issues with this machine.

For the battery, Cub states that the machine will run for up to 2 acres or 1.5 hours on a full charge. How much do you think your battery is lasting per charge?

And for the speed control, take a look at the speed control pedal and it's linkage. Perhaps there's a sort of dampening shock absorber that isn't connected? If there isn't one, perhaps you could add one to it. :bigthink:

This is a brand new machine. I have about a half acre to mow ( I know small but can't walk as much as I used to). The last time I mowed it ran out before I was completed - did a quick charge to finish it. It was 100% charged before I started. Could the fast speed cause the battery to drain faster?

A relative just bought one of these and I've used it a few times. So far no problem with the charge lasting - I mowed a hilly third of an acre and used about 30% of the charge. However legibility of the digits on the LCD display is very poor. The digits "1" and "7" are hard to distinguish, especially if you are tall and viewing the display from a high angle. One person who used it interrupted their mowing after a surprisingly short period saying that they only had 11% charge left. I checked the machine and found it had 71% but could easily be misread as 11%.

Regarding the other issue - the speed control. My relative reported that it went faster than he wanted when mowing, so I tested this and found I could mow smoothly at slow speeds with gentle and steady use of the pedal. With hesitant or forceful pedal pushes I have experienced some jerky acceleration. I suspect familiarity will make this a non-issue for me.
