782 Carb Question
Good evening,
My 782's carb is spraying gas into the air filter. Please see the video. Do I need to replace the carb or rebuild it? The engine is a Kohler KT-17. Thank you. https://youtu.be/c61hkgzmFbI |
The FIRST thing I would check is the "compression" of the Kohler engine.

Is your carb SPRAYING gas into the air cleaner or is it oil?
and where is it coming from? is coming from the crankcase vent tube in the base of the aircleaner, or? Is your crankcase full of gasoline because of a problem with the needle valve or ruptured fuel pump diaphragm? Much info is needed rather than " Doctor, I'm not feeling well". :bigthink: |
Thank you.
1. Gasoline. 2. Spraying up from the bottom of the air filter base. 3. I have not checked the needle valve. It could be the issue. It started spraying gas about a week or so ago. 4. The fuel pump is new; although it was very inexpensive. The carb was partially rebuilt. There was an inset I could not removed. File float is plastic. |
