It looks like I will be buying the 3240 Cub Cadet that I ran into. He cleaned it up for me also and might get delivered Sunday hopefully!

The 3000 series are great machines and I think you will enjoy having bought it.

I did get here on Sunday. Thought I would start puttering around with the 3240 today. So I did a compression test and came up with 160 psi in each cylinder and when it runs I do not hear valve train or lower end noise, the oil looked decent so I think I have a good engine that has 461 hours on it. I started making a list of things that I need and it is adding up fast. I need a PTO switch, vacuum solenoid and ignition switch for starts. They work but a broken in other ways. Any one have parts machines around to sell me some parts? I am checking out E-Bay but half the time they do not answer. Think I will order up the O-rings and seals soon also so I will be ready to pull out the differential to check it out. The wheel lock works and there are not any noises coming from there that I know of.

I am thinking about pulling the 22 HP Kohler from the tractor to clean and look it over. Does anyone know how much it weighs? Can I pick it up my self?
|
it weighs around 90-100lbs
I can and have lifted many of them out and back in again. I wouldn't want to carry it very far but just to move it from tractor to bench is doable. at 460 hours it most likely needs a good cleaning and I'd be amazed if it doesn't need head gaskets and crank seals. |

I got the engine pulled tonight. I also have limited space and almost regretted buying this because of that. But now that I am into it I am managing and having fun.
