High Temp Black Paint
I am needing to paint some tins on a Kroller command. What High Temp black paint have you used with good results?
|
I use Krylon.

Have you thought about wood stove high temp paint , good for 1200f and you have a choice of colours

They have Hi temp Bbq grill stuff, as well as header paint.
I have used header paint and it seems to hold up. If you are painting cooling shrouds, I would think if they got hot enough to cause a paint issue, you have other problems. |
Here we go , a good old American company Stove Bright by the Forrest paint co. www.forrestpaint.com

Ah, muffin shields, yep they do get hot.
Then that stove paint or header paint sounds good to me. I knew a feller that bought a wood stove once, said it was oak so it burned near an hour before it was ashes. :biggrin2: |
Used a BBQ grill paint good up to 500 degrees F one time on a muffler shield or some such thing. Paint peeled off quick. Tried automotive engine paint with a rating up to 1000 degrees F or higher; worked great.
Lesson: Apply paint that is rated at least twice the temperature you're expecting. |
