1772 power steering issues
Hey guys,
I have been having problems with my power steering not working at times. The hydraulic will not do anything and then if I turn the wheel the other direction and then back it will turn all the way. I've tried to bleed the lines, checked my levels and it didn't make any difference. Let me know if you guys have any advice. Thank you, Ben |
Sounds like you are ready for a steering cylinder rebuild or replacement. The fluid is blowing past the piston seals in the cylinder.

Hi Eckenrot, welcome to the forum! As cubdiesel fan states, it's probably the hyraulic oil going past the seals in the steering cylinder. I've had that happen on both my 1572 and 1772. Not too bad of a job to do. If you do a search, you will find more details and info on sources for parts - fairly cheap. The only thing after the repair is done is the cap of the cylinder needs to be welded back on.

steering cylinder issue
I am going to have to rebuild the one on my 1872. I'm just wondering if anyone has any info. I know, grind, weld and cut it to rebuild, then weld back.

Eckenrot and rabbittrap, I sent you pm's with more info in the steering Cylinder rebuilds.
