Only Cub Cadets - New Guy in VA

Hi Guys, 1st time cub owner here in southside Va. Picked up a 147 last Friday and from what I can figure out (mostly from this site) it's a 1970 model, appears to be complete and cosmetically in fair shape. I haven't even attempted to crank it yet. Heard about it Fri morning and took off, ran and picked it up while the wife was packing for a week at the beach, not my best move, but didn't want to miss a deal, hope I got one! Needles to say my 14 yoa son and I were a lot more excited than she was. Anyway, the guy I got it from got it from previous owner in some kinda trade deal and said the owner said it had not been cranked in 12 months and that he had to use starting fluid to crank it and thats pretty much all I know. Looking forward to getting her fired up and will probably need a lot of guidance. This is a great site and a wealth of information for people like myself who like to try fixin stuff!!
