Hey from Georgia
This Sunday (Aug 22) I am buying my first Cub Cadet. It's a Model 123. To be honest, I don't have a true need for the garden tractor, and the guy told me the engine makes a "noise", which he thinks is a wrist pin. But, that's the fun part. The whole reason I'm getting the CC is to learn. A couple years ago I inherited a 1960's Snapper Comet that wasn't running and a friend of mine and his father in law helped me rebuild the carb and taught me how it works. I instantly became hooked and since have repaired a tiller and a couple 2 stroke weed eaters. I'm getting this cub to do a complete rebuild, not really a restore. I'm not wanting to turn it into a show tractor or anything, I want to make it into a work horse. I plan on tearing it down completely and repainting it, and getting it to run better than new. I'll post pictures on here as soon as I get it, and I plan on documenting the whole process on youtube. I'm sure I'll be coming here to ask a lot of questions, I just hope at some point I'll be able to start answering them, too. At least one thing I can offer, if anyone has computer questions, I work in IT, so I might be able to lend a hand there :BangPC:

Welcome to OCC.
I have a 123 also, and it's one of my favorites. It was Cub Cadet's first hydro tractor, so the 123 does hold some special place in the history of CCs. Please post some pictures of it when you can. Again welcome. |
Welcome fellow Georgian.:beerchug:

I picked up the 123 today, but my cable modem was hit by lightning last night, so I can only get only via my cell. I will post pictures tomorrow when I get my new modem...unless I can figure out how to do it from my phone....hmmm...sounds like a challenge.
