Battery for a GT3200
 

Hello, I just ventured into the world of the 3000 series with a GT3200. I found a nice unit, with only 344 hours on it. I noticed the battery is original and a bit sluggy. What is the group size etc. of this top post battery? Thanks!

Mitch, I believe they are a group 51 battery. Just make sure it has the terminals in the proper location. I have changed the battery connections on some of mine to just use a standard L&G battery with no issues.

I did the same as Oak in my 3235 and have had no problems.

I would suggest either a Gel or Calcium type as they are less susceptible to vibrations and being shaken to bits

I will have to try to remember that. Plus the fact that the acid splashes around. I put gel in my boat when I had it.

I've had no problems using the $40 L&G 350CCA batteries from farm and fleet. Usually last 4-5 years.

Use 'em in all my Cubs.

I’m actually pretty impressed the original battery still in there and it seems to be working fine it has 2009 stamped on it.
