Reverse and first, lost and missing on my 1200.
I was out this morning playing with my new to me QA-42. It was working fine once I put more tension on the belt. Went to grab reverse wasn't there, let me try 1st, not there either.... 2nd and 3rd are fine. This is on my 1200, I have had for years. Not my new purchase from this summer. No prior indication anything was wrong, btw.
I have no idea what to start with. |
Ya done blowed it up!!:biggrin2:
Actually it is prolly in the shifter rails/forks, don't panic someone will be along shortly with more help. :beerchug: , |
I really hope so, I wasn't thrashing on it at all. One down and back pass was all I got out of it....

I'd start by looking at the pins that go thru the hole in 23 or the slot in 5.

Ok, I will do that. I didn't hear or feel anything thing at all. I have done driveline work on this before yrs ago. Spring, flex plate, etc. 2nd and 3rd seemed fine.

It is prolly the 1st and reverse shifter fork bolt got loose, or it broke...
To fix it remove the fender pan, put the tranny in neutral then take the cover off. It will be obvious. It is the one in the far side. |
If the shift fork is broke, Is it typically weld able?
|
Yes it can be done.
