Picked up my first Super (2284)

I've had a couple other Cub Cadets over the past few years, a 1650 and an 1862. I sold those a while back. A couple days ago I came across a 2284 for sale. I've wanted to pick up a Super for a while, so I decided to take a look at it, and the price was right. It came with a mower deck and a snowblower.

Overall it's in pretty good shape. It needs a few odds and ends. The right rear tire had a blown tube and the bead was broken, so it was kinda of a pain to get it on the trailer, the deck hung up quite a bit because it was sitting so low. I took care of the tire when I got home and have been slowly going over it.

I also made a quick video yesterday where I start it up.

Looking forward to getting it running well, I have some tune up parts on the way and hopefully will get the put on later this week.

Cool! Hate how the deck is black, but I very much like my recently acquired cyclops supers. Personally I'm torn on the fender flares (2182 doesn't have them, 1782 does), but they're super cool and have really nice decks (albeit they don't pickup super far).

If I could just find a yellow 982, I wouldn't need anymore Cub Cadets :D

Yeah, I feel the same way about the deck being black. I may paint it, I'm not sure. I plan to pull it off coming up and replace the bearings and look over it to see if it needs anything else. Whether not not I decide to paint it, we'll see.

You should get a bumper for that plastic grill :beerchug:

Well if You have a 46-inch deck and want a Bagger the Fender flares become a Pain as You Have to remove the right rear fender flare. But other than that they don't interfere with the Tractor Operations

I Bought a 1991 2182 In January 2021 From RF Houtz

BTW, the deck that came with the 2182 is still for sale By RF Houtz. That was one thing I never wanted to do with this super, is use it for mowing. It's going to be used for 3 point and Blower work

I added the Xtreme Modified 82 series Cat 0 3point and have since converted it to a Limited Cat 1 3point hitch Thanks to Bill Ruegg, so I can trade attachment between the 2182 & My Deere X748.

Got a 450 Blower for free from My Neighbor for it, which had been on his 1541

Got to at least try the 450 out once this winter, but we seem to have snow drought here in Northeaster IL:)

That's a nice 2182. If I had a preference it would be no flares. I think the their neat but the tractors look better without them.

Where can one find such a bumper?

He is talking a bumper to protect the grille. They pop up on eBay from time to time. There was a member here making them but he has not made any in a while.
