First Cub Cadet! 147.

Hi everyone,
I think I might hold a dubious record for this forum! :bigthink:
What's the longest time between someone joining this forum, and then getting their first Cub Cadet?.. how about: twelve years! oh well..

I've been into vintage garden tractors and snowblowers for awhile now, and I've been mowing for 10 years with a 1964 Wheel Horse, but I've always wanted a Cub Cadet too..So I've been casually looking and researching Cub Cadets for years, and I already knew what range of models I would like.. but I finally made a dedicated effort to search this Spring..and this 147 popped up locally! I went out yesterday and bought it. Its complete and works! :D it's going to become my primary mower, and I might trick it out for snow duty too..(although I already have a small collection of vintage Ariens snowblowers for that..so I'm not sure.) we'll see.

Here she is! I'll probably have some questions for the group.. :beerchug:
Thanks!

Thanks! No, I don't have the tiller, it's long gone, the guy I bought it from didn't have it either. He wasn't the original owner, but he had all the "original owner paperwork" which he gave to me! So I do know the original owner bought it new in July 1971, with the tractor, mower deck, snowblower and rototiller! He went all-in!

But somewhere over the past 50 years the snowblower and tiller parted ways with the tractor, but the tiller gearbox remains!

Thanks,
Scot

You're sort of like, how I was with Wheel Horse. Joined Red Square when the 1st came out and didn't buy a Wheel Horse for another 11 or 12 years

My 1st Cub Cadet purchase was an MTD/Cub, a Cub Cadet 2206 in 2002 as a Tractor for my wife when I retired from the Army and moved back to Illinois. But what was funny, even Before the 2206 was delivered to the House, I had been Given a Cub Cadet Original :biggrin2:

Congrats on the 147
