12V Port
Hi Guys
I'd like to make use of the electrical accessory port on my CC1023RD lawn tractor, but I'm unclear what type of port it is, and what type of plug I would need to buy. Fairly sure it didn't come with a plug, to wire myself, because I keep everything, and I've looked through the bag of bits it came with. I'm thinking there will be an adaptor available from the CC type of electrical socket, to a more common type of socket, found in cars as cigar lighters. Measuring it, I make it out to be 12mm, and a car cigar lighter to be 20mm. In the case of my mower, it's in the little glove box, behind my legs, and I want to use it for my electric tyre pump. I won't want to change the plug on the pump, because I keep that in the car, in case of slow punctures, but if I can find the right type of plug for the Cub Cadet, I can buy an adaptor, or additionally a socket, and make my own. I did try searching on Google, and here on this site, but any mention of Cub Cadet accessory port, just lists normal type of lawn tractor accessories, mechanical, even when I specifically include electrical, or 12V, etc. Thanks for any advice. Cheers Sutty EDIT: By the way, I realise I could just take it out, drill out a bigger hole, and fit a 20mm socket, but I detest making things unoriginal, so an adaptor would suit me better. |

Hit the Cub Cadet Parts & Service lookup link on the top of this page and key in your model, should give the P/N for the receptacle and also list any potential adapter. |
Thanks for the reply. Yes, it's European, but none of the service parts listings even show it. It was there from new though, as I have had it from new, but all they show there is the plastic glove box, door and the hole for it itself, which is clear, but no part shown mounted in it, or listed. :BangPC:
I'll try the link above too, thanks again. |
Part #5 in this link. Description: 8JB004777-001. Goggle search shows it's a Hella socket.

Well found, thank you. I came across Hella sockets, or at least the plugs, often, during searches for 12mm plugs, but didn't know if they were correct. I was going to order one, just on the off chance, because they were cheap enough, but you have removed the doubt.
Nice one, thanks. :beerchug: |
Found this, right away, when using the correct term.
https://www.amazon.co.uk/Cliff-Top%C...31&sr=8-6&th=1 Looks to be just the ticket, and cheap enough, carriage paid, with prime. I'll get one, and confirm. Cheers Sutty |
The one I linked works like a charm. I can leave it in the glove box, though it has to be unplugged, or the door won't shut, but it will always be there when I need it, so it's just the ticket.
Thanks for identifying it as Hella Bill. Cheers Sutty |
