Original, tighten up my sloppy steering
 
I've checked the rods and such, and most all the slop is in the steering box. Is there an adj like on an old Ford? Do I have to tear down and change out the tracking pin or shaft?

Actually, it doesn't. This is the first line of that link, which I had already found:

I don't have any experience with steering assemblies on the Original or earlier version Cubs but have worked on quite a few of the Wide frame steering assemblies.

Strange, I find that article linked to by Mr. Bedell quite informative.
That and the manual just linked to by Ironman should be all you need.
