1250 hydro adjustment question for the experts
 

ok guys i have a 1976 1250 with the hydro trans, i have searched for instructions on how to adjust the linkage but not much luck. here is what the tractor is doing, when going forward i move the lever about half way up before it starts moving, then i move it all the way up and it speeds up a little. then after about 2-3 seconds it will start speeding up on its own (the motor rpm's stay the same, it's just the ground speed that increases). then it will reach top speed and run like that till i move the lever to slow down. going in reverse it will start to move once i get out of neutral spot and it will speed up however far i move the lever (it will not speed up on it's own going in reverse). i am pretty sure the linkage is out of adjustment so anyone know what i need to check and how to adjust it? also i put new hy-trans fluid in and it is full and also put a new stens filter on it.

ok, i'll check those parts out tomorrow and see what i find. thanks

yep that was the problem, couple tack welds and a few minutes with a file and it was back to being square, then a little bend of the plate to make it center. driving smooth forward and reverse now. thanks
