Removing rock shaft/manual lift on 125
I need help removing the manual lift and rock shaft from my 125. I plan to use it on my 147 since my electric lift does not work. I’ve removed the toothed ratchet plate deal but now I can’t get the rock shaft out. It’s slid in brackets under the footrest and they are welded on. What’s the easiest way to get it out?

Remove the footsy rest.

When I took the lift and rockshaft from my 125, I had to remove the footrests. They weren't welded on, it was all held on with bolts, if yours were welded, you may need to grind off those welds.
BTW, I lifted the front end and took the lift out the bottom. |
I agree, Dave
Should NOT be welded on!! Two each, 3/8" x 1" bolts on each triangular shaped bracket on each side of the frame. |
The brackets are suppose to be welded to the footsy rest, 2 bolts on the top of the footsy rest have to be removed.

On My 106 when I went from Manual to Electric Lift. I did not Have to Take off the foot rest I drove the front end of the Tractor Onto Car Ramps and was able to unbolted the rocker shaft Mounting Brackets then slide the handle through the lift arm slot.
BTW, Cubcadetpatrick, consider replacing the electric lift On your 147 with a New actuator. I Bought a 4-inch Thompson actuator from Johnny Products and Replaced the duff-Norton actuator On the 106 I did Half to Make a New actuator Mounting Bracket But with the Permanent Bracket on the 147 You cut the actuator Mounting Pin off the Bracket then drill a Hole where the Pin was and Use a PIN instead with Multiple Holes then You will need to Buy the Clevis Assy, Hyd Cyl End Need at Least 2 Nuts and a Bolt and Have a Bracket Made:ThumbsUp: |
