1782 Factory Model Numbers
The 50 Year CC book lists the following factory model numbers for the 1782 SGT:
140-712-100 141-712-100 142-712-100 143-714-100 144-714-100 145-715-100 146-715-100 What is the difference? Does each number signify a different model year? I apologize if this information is published some where. Thanks! |
14X-712-100 -- X is the year it built in the 90's
712 machines will have the 4.6" PTO 714/715 will have the 6" PTO They also switched over to a plastic tunnel cover and screens on the side panels somewhere in here too so that will probably be the difference between the 714 & 715. I also believe they switched to a 30MM axle sometime late in the series. 100 is a yellow and white machine (even though that was the only color) |
Thank you very much for that information. I thought it designated different options (tires, hydraulics, etc.). But then I realized there were seven (7) numbers and the 1782 was produced from 1990-1996 = 7 years.
Even my local CC dealer did not know. I will pass this info on to him. Thanks again!! |
In summary, the 1782 had three (3) variants, being: 712, 714, & 715.
This is why it is important to look and copy down the information, from the tag on your tractor, so one gets the right parts. :IH Trusted Hand: |

This book has it in it, may be a printing error.

The 50 year book (page 94) lists 144-714-100 twice but I do not see 713 listed in the 1782 tractor section.
What book are you looking in? |
