782 won’t fire….

Plowed snow a few weeks ago. Parked it in heated shop. Tried to move it around shop and no start. Plenty fuel in tank, tried wiring around safety switch, have spark, can’t say it’s the best, but enough I think it should at least fire.

Any suggestions or tips are appreciated.

Thanks in advance!

First, welcome to OCC.......... :Welcome2:

It takes three things to fire up an engine. Spark, Fuel, and Compression.

YOU said you have spark, I assume the compression hasn't changed in a few weeks, thus it must be fuel. Take the Air Cleaner off and mist in some "starter fluid" and see if it will start up.

Thank you!

I have already tried as much with starting fluid with cleaner off.

That’s why I do puzzled. It ran perfect when I was plowing. Nothing abnormal. Shut down normal, etc…

How do the points look? And is the gap in spec?

If it won’t even cough on starting fluid, I would suspect ignition-related issues.

Bet it is points/condenser related.

thanks for everyone's comments and help. I have done a little more research. the tractor has a Kohler M18 in it. I believe it is the ignition module.

My next question, do I have to pull the motor to replace? i have a the gas tank out of they way, taken out several bolts, but appears to have more under the bottom side???

any feedback to this?

Thanks in advance

IF.....you have a M-18 instead of a KT-17, then YES, the Ignition Magneto Coil is under the shrouds, and those have to be removed.
