Started a new project today. 1862 with donor engine and harness from an 1863. I would swap frames but the grass is getting tall already and this will be my mower this year. I'll be using a 50C deck on it. I'm doing this since I'll be selling my 1864 soon.

Why are you selling your 1864? Thinning the herd?

A couple of years ago, I sold the 782 with the blower, then I sold the case 646 bucket tractor, then sold the 1440 with the plow. Got an 1872 with a plow, love the hydraulic lift and swivel. We just got a dumping of snow that years ago was a common occurrence. Missed the blower and bucket tractor. ( didn’t use them enough and didn’t get that much snow) with that deep snow, the wider plow would push the tractor sideways when swiveled. Always something to miss when you give up equipment.

Finally got back to this as the grass is calling. Got the battery tray, wiring harness, new fuel line, and engine installed today. Primed the fuel line and tried to start it. It ran for a second off the gas I put down the carb, then my jump pack decided I was done for the night. Hopefully I will be mowing by Sunday afternoon. :beerchug:

The 1862.5 got it's first taste of grass tonight.:beer2:
I still need to level the deck and a few other odds and ends. I swapped the steering wheel from the 1863. I sure wish the old Cub wheels came off that easy! Here it is post grass kill. |
