A what-if/can I type question for the gurus

I have a 782 (yellow ccc) with a likely good KT-17 engine but a lot of other issues. I’m looking at a 1872 with a likely bad Magnum engine. Can I, could I would I should I be able to swap my good engine into without re-engineering a huge amount?

The KT-17 is a "drop in" replacement for the M-18 ...EXCEPT... there is a difference in the Ignition Wiring, and a minor modification would need to be done.

I've done a few of these conversions. Like mentioned above, there are some wiring/switch differences that can be addressed in a couple of ways. There is a kill wire/circuit on the Magnums, which the battery ignition tractors do not have. I rewire mine to accept an ignition switch from an 1810/1811/1812, but others utilize a relay into the existing 782 harness.

Thanks, looks like I’ll be spending some money if I can get him down a little.

I’ll likely be needing guidance on that if the deal works out. Thanks
