Just curious if anyone's taken a pull behind dethatcher or aerator and adapted it to work on the three point sleeve hitch ??
|
You must have to lift it to cross over the sidewalk or driveway.

I took a pull behind de-thatcher and fabricated it for a Sleeve Hitch application. I could do some more improvements, but it does work for my needs.

Seems to me you'd have to only do straight runs and pick it up for all your corners, or else you'd end up damaging it. If anyone's done it successfully so you could keep it down while doing tight turns I'd love to see how it was done so I could copy it.

This works for me.
Really handy for getting in tight corners! Just make your self a tool bar to fit whatever type lift you have. Then get rid of whatever you don't need (which is most of it) from the store bought unit and mount the actual de-thatcher part and you are all set. |
Looks like some good ideas, I realize it would need lifted for turns but not a big concern as I got some longer straight runs . I just think it would be easier to lift with the hitch rather than wrestle the attachment lift lever while twisting around backwards in the seat ? thanks for the input !!

I had no problem turning using my Kensico aerator. Now if you can find one ( I may know a source) of these Brinly front mount thatchers you can do both at once.

That's definitely nice !!! I don't dethatch often enough to warrant a machine that nice !!!
