Gaskets

I am going to freshen up a KT-17 Series II.

I am looking at Gasket Sets. I am seeing prices from $17.00 to the OEM of $140.00.

What is your experience? Something of good value ?? Something to stay away from ??

When I rebuilt my K241, gaskets were pretty much the only parts I didn’t go OEM on. I bought a kit from iSaveTractors. Worked/works great.

I have purchased from this guy (bakt4kids) on eBay and never had any problems.

I would stick with OEM head gaskets at the very least. They have a fire ring. With the other gaskets, you can get away with aftermarket.

Good point, I didn’t mention that I did buy an OEM head gasket for that very reason.
