Battery tenders
Lets start another debate. the use of battery maintainers. Does anyone use them, are they bad on the batteries, or no problems using 'em? What's every ones opinion?

I use this one. This easily tops off the charge on my Garden Tractor and collector car batteries. Only $30..

I use to have one called the Battery Tender. Don't remember who made it, but it worked good for me till I lost it in the move back to Maine. Been thinking of getting another one, as temps up here get pretty cold in winter. Reason for asking I've just had a shop tell me not to use them "because they can sometimes over charge, or cycle the battery too often.

Never had a problem , connect it to battery first thing in the morning by the time breakfast is finished , washing up done , dishes dried , the little green light says we are good to go
The trickle charger I have got I guess would not be available in the USofA Generally have Toast with Peanut butter and a cup of Tea for those interested Oz |

I don’t like the idea of leaving a battery charging unattended. I know someone whose garage burnt down from one of those.

If you have decent circuit breakers in the garage you should be as good as gold I would only imagine trouble if you left them for extended periods , say like over 4 hours or more Oz |

I have been using this one from Hazard Freight for years. It has lasted longer than all the others I have tried. I leave it plugged in to my HD for weeks at a time and then move it around to my Cubbies. :bigeyes:Maybe I shouldn't do this but I never really thought much about it.
