That's probably a 190-400-100 tiller with an 8 HP engine MTD started using that style of Tiller for the MTD-made Standard Garden Tractor with 23X rear tires in 1982 and it was produced through the 1st two model years of the 3000 series. Until the 42-inch hydraulic came out for 3000 series in the states The 3000 series in Canada had a 42-inch 2000RPM tiller available for it in 1998.. Same 190-400-100 was also Produced for the White GT1855 & GT2055 starting in the early 1990's. It Usually Just attached to the Two 3 Point lift arms and not the Middle Link. You Lift it and support it On the rear Tiller wheel when in transport Mode

I owned a similar tiller that I ran on an 1862 years ago. While the tiller
worked really well I always had trouble with the support wheel setup
I have to back up to fences in many places and backing up in tilled
ground never worked well. If a person didn't need to back up much
I think they a pretty good option. I also never really liked the furrow
the wheel left in my nice seed beds.
