Resurfacing a cub original clutch?

Hi all,
In the process of rebuilding my cub cadet original's clutch. While I was, a neighbor of mine told me I should resurface it with a lathe while I have it apart. I don't have a lathe but is there an alternative way I should resurface it?

Belt sander if it's not rusted and pitted.
You need a good crosshatch on it if possible.
But a lathe would be a better alternative.

Send it off to "Parts by Jeff" at the top of the page. I'm sure he could take care of that for you.

Fins, do you do that type of work?
