Ltx1050 transmission leak

3 Attachment(s)
I have a ltx1050 that has a slow oil leak around the transmission, where do these usually leak from, is it an easy fix and how do I go about adding more oil to it, any video I've seen says to remove a plastic cap but mine doesn't have that, only thing I see is a hex bolt that I can't get to budge, is that the correct one to remove to add fluid to tranny

Yes, that is the fill plug.
No dipstick, you have to measure fluid level to 1 1/4 inch.
Here's link to Hydro Gear manuals.

I had a LTX1045 with the same transmission (HydroGear). One thing you may want to consider is buying suction device (turkey baster, the manual type you pump, etc.). Suck as much of the old dirty fluid off and then refill. Your transmission is over 10 years old and will benefit from it. Note, I think I refilled mine with 20W-50 oil. The manual I have even states 20W-50.

Any chance that bolt is reverse threaded, I have yet been unable to loosen it but didn't want to really try until I found out cause I didn't want to strip threads or anything

No reason for a left handed thread.
Left to loosie righty to tighty.
a new Allen wrench and a big cheater bar.
And it don't need to be that tight if has an "0" ring seal

If memory serves, it was super tight!
