GT 2550 deck lever stuck
Hello, thanks for approving my request to join. I removed the deck from my 2008 gt2550. Cleaned, greased, replaced the belts and the blades. I'm ready to reattach, but the deck lever is stuck in the highest position. With all my might, I pushed and pushed until my feet left the ground. The button depresses and clicks, and I got the handle to move ever so slightly, but not enough to click. I might have taken the deck off when it was in it's highest position??? I'm grateful for any help and suggestions.

The lift handle latching mechanism may be bent or otherwise compromised. We did a video on the lift mechanism, you may find it useful to understand how the system works and where the potential issues could be.
https://youtu.be/5qWjOJ_4MnE To overcome the lift assist spring it is normal to have to apply different forces to the handle depending on height location and whether or not it has a load (the deck) attached. I would first try pulling up while pushing the button in, then pushing down to see if you can get it to free up. |
X2 . plus give the latching mechanism a squirt with some oil
