Straightened bent NF Snow Blade undercarriage
5 Attachment(s)
Hi all!
I bought a snow blade for my 102, but the undercarriage legs were bent to one side. I figure whatever the guy hit probably sent him over the hood and into orbit, and I figured straightening the legs would require a whole lot of heating and hammering that I am not equipped to do. But, I found that this was not the case. One of the legs I was almost able to unbend by fixing a piece of scrap shelving channel to it with heavy duty C-clamps. I was then able to clamp the channel to the other leg, and then using a bottle jack, straighten the first almost straight leg. The I switched the channel back to the first leg, repositioned the bottle jack and was able to go between a hand bend and the jack to get both legs straight. None of this required any torch heating at all. Attachment 115421 Attachment 115422 Attachment 115423 Attachment 115424 Attachment 115425 |
