Modified to fit my needs

I have changed how this is used to fit my application. I have a pretty steep but short hill, with the belly mower I could not get enough traction if I did I felt I was going to wheelie over so I came up with this idea to make it safer. I used a reinforced mule drive mount so it hangs off of the original cub mounts as any other cub attachment does. I will be adding caster type wheels in the back of the push mower
for to allow for better turning for now I just pull the back wheels off. For me this set up is handier and easier to remove then the belly mower. I'm not as young as I used to be lol. |
Good idea. Looks like a Swisher tow behind mower. :beerchug:

Thats exactly what it is Sam, a 60" model. It still retains the capability to be towed but at this point I don't see that I'll ever be using it for that.

See some of those Older Ideas for out front Mowing decks Of the Past should Have been Kept in Garden tractor Production through the 80's till today
Gravely, Wheel Horse and Elec-trak and a few other had out-front mower Options for Tractors. I especially Like the Old MOTT front Mounted Flail Mower as You didn't Have to Knock something down before Mowing IE Corn stalks really got cut up on the 1st Pass. Now is that Swisher Finish Mower or Swisher Brush Cutter ? . |
It would have been great if Ih or the later Mtd cubs had the option like the ones you mentioned but then again it would have cost me a lot more money then repurposing the swisher mower. I'm thinking this is the finish mower which in my case I only have a few small saplings growing from time to time and this will handle them without hesitation so I happy with it so far

My little Steiner has a 60" deck out front too. The front deck is handy for mowing under trees and overgrown area's near the creek.
