Time for a refresh on the 109, don't know yet if it's the first in 50+ years but it's the first in the 18 years I've owned it !! It's been needing it for a few years but everyone else's stuff kept me from it, kinda like the plumber with the leaking pipes in his house ! Taking some time to work on mine so it quits huffing smoke while it's working !

Well then, we're gonna need lots of pics. Looking forward to your rebuild.

First time I seen a k series Koehler on an engine stand. Looks good. Good luck with the rebuild

Yeah, they're not the easiest to mount

Remove the starter mtg bracket and bolt right up, much better than trying to roll around on a work bench, been doing it this way for years ..

I get that, but maybe it's my engine stand. It's a pain to get things aligned nicely. I should probably make a plate for just for Kohlers.

Got a little time to start disassembly of the 109's power plant ! PTO and basket pulley safely removed ,crank and key-way look great ! Some visible wear on the cyl wall likely will need to go .010 over or .020 if needed once I mic it ! The head looked normal and the gasket was not showing any issue other than age !
