Aftermarket Carburetors

PO installed an aftermarket carb on my 126. And used a small cheap spring on attached to it and the fuel line clamp to tension it. Well that obviously isn’t a long term solution, and I’m hoping someone here can shed some light on how to do this a little better. I’d prefer to use the carb they installed but am open to other options. (In the picture I took the spring off the carb but you should still get the idea)

I have seen many with springs on the throttle control. It should not be there. A good sign that the governor has a problem. Hopefully it just need adjusting or the tab may be broken internally. Download the kohler service manual on this site and it will show you how to reset the governor and what the linkage to the carb looks like.

Tab is definitely broke off, is the part number KH-231355/KH-231355-S? When I punch that in Google it doesn’t looks quite right

Drop the KH and then try the search.

This is what I am trying to find a replacement for

darkminion_17 02-28-2025 05:26 PM

You will have to take the whole engine apart to replace that. It is what it is. Hopefully your cam or governor gear did not get damaged.

I’m not doubting you, but why do I have to tear it all the way down to replace it?

Also any idea on the P/N for it? Because Google gives me something different
