Identifying Kohler Command Engine How?
I need an engine for my 2082. I'm looking around home now for a 20 hp command engine. There is a big tractor junkyard about 15 miles away. He has Kohler horizontal shaft engines. I do not want another magnum(that's what is broke in 2082 now,CC dealer doesnt have parts or command engines used). So I'm new ,how do I identify a command engine? Thanks Bob.

Just about any Cub Cadet that has a Command engine can be used. One example is a 2185, that I used for a project. The 2185 has a 18 hp rated engine. You can make it a 20 hp by removing a limiting screw in the carb and making sure the governor is adjusted correctly.
You will also need a drive shaft from a Super Cub that had the Command. A 2084 would work for that. One of the sponsors above will have those in stock. If you want to make a trip to VA, there is a member with a 1872 that has an Command engine. |

That's a 27hp engine so that's going to be a little more. Check Craigs List or FakeBook market place for a 2000 or 3000 series machine for a donor engine.
If your okay with a road trip here is a sweet deal for ya. https://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/...ad.php?t=62892 |

Thanks again guys. I talked to Mr Houtz that's an option. Trying local first. Wish that Virginia tractor was closer,I'd take it.
