Spring is upon us!!
 

I haven't broken out my Cub Cadet yet this spring, but I can tell its coming soon!! Anyone else kinda looking forward to this? Any special maintenance you do each spring that not everyone thinks of? :)

I think we bypassed spring and went right into summer, got bit by a mosquito today. :Irratated:

Yeah, looking to get the engine for my 129 built, have it bored and honed out, and the crank shaft ground.

Last Year, I was mowed for the first time on April 6th. This year, I think it will be towards the end of April. They had predicted snow here today in North Eastern Illinois. Glad they were wrong. I can't wait to plow up the garden, but that's still probably a week or two away yet.

Got my 2nd garden plowed yesterday after I cleaned off the asparagus patch and ran all that debris plus more through the 59-M shredder and scattered it all around.

That's an easy Fix

I am looking forward to spring. But it could be a while yet
before we get to motivated for the garden. Garlic is up and
thriving but that was planted last fall.
Woke up to 2 inches of fresh snow this morning. It won't stay
long but makes it too muddy to work the garden. I think I can safely
take the chains and snow thrower off the 125.

I don’t do anything special, there are too many of them for a pampered PM schedule. Just oil changes and fresh fuel, non-ethanol if you can find it, fix the problems when they present themselves.

Connected the battery on the 1650 after sitting all winter and plowed the garden this past weekend, I have to say it ran better than I expected.

Was that a garden last year?
Seems it should have turned over better than that I would think.
I usually plow in 2nd gear near WOT w/my 128 and it turns nearly everything under.
This is on a slight side hill, throwing it uphill, the Cub stays nearly level, easy peasy!!

It was a garden last year, had sweet corn in there, weeds took over in the fall and the corn stubble was left after brush hogging.

I'm no plowman by any means, for some reason I've never been able to get the cut sod or dirt to lay over cleanly each row, sometimes it does, most times it doesn't. I'm plowing downhill, fairly level ground in one direction so the right tires are always in the furrow.

I typically plow it early with the cub just to play around and then a week before planting use my 72" tiller and compact tractor to level everything up and produce a clean seedbed for the Deere 246 planter.
