2072 no turn over unless the pto is on
 

Hi all
I have a 2072 1989 m20
That has a charged battery with a no start no turn over condition, but does turn over if the front pto is engaged. How many safety switches does it have. And where are they. My seat switch looks broken should I tie the 2 wires together?

It sounds like a couple of wires are reversed on the PTO relay which is under the left side panel by where your knee would be. Not sure the history of the machine- like did you just get it? Did this problem start out of the blue? Has someone “ worked “ on it? Any which way I would pull up the correct wiring diagram and start there.
