The Future?

It's a beautiful day....in 1957. Check out this Simplicity X-100 Wonderboy. it is air conditioned too!

That is very cool indeed. Wonder what they did with the prototype? I could not find anything else about it.

I like the fact that it will not only mow my lawn but do my chores as
well. Great pictures on the advertisements.

Apparently in the future we would only have absolutely level yards with no gopher holes or any soft spots for those tiny tires to fall into.

A pretty leggy young woman in high heels mowing with a man relaxing in a lawn recliner observing.
That sure is a fantasy.
The dome looks like a very big plastic cup with lid, that
only lacks a straw.
Now getting technical, It appears to me that "wonderboy" prototype has 3 casters
that it sits on, wondering how it allows it to operate?
or have I ruined the fantasy? :bigthink:

You had me hooked thinking about the lady and then indeed
you ruined it going on about mechanical stuff.

Understanding more than air conditioning for cooling is a great feature. My friend has asthma. He has 30 acres, but has only 10 of it mowed. He borrowed my 7232D to mow when his mowing person quit on him. I asked him how he liked mowing with it and he said that he cannot mow because of his asthma condition, so he hired someone to mow with it. He said he was looking for something with a cab that had air conditioning in it, not for the comfort but for this condition. I think this innovation is creative and has a market for it. Also, the zero turn was nothing new, as the picture indicates. My dad had a very old mower, I think Simplicity, with zero turn many, many years ago.

Cool stuff and great find! Thanks for sharing some yesteryear, vintage memories DeltaCub.

The dude on the chaise seems to be demonstrating the length of something...meanwhile she seems to have quite a grip on that stick...hmmm:bigthink:

I'm sure they're just discussing conversational calculus...you know f of x and all of that happy stuff. :beer2:
