123 steering question
 

So spending some time with my CC123, and it will turn tighter to the left then the right. I would think that turning left or right should be about the same amount of travel of the steering wheel. Jacked the front up and checked that the tie rods and the drag link were ok, made a small adjustment to the rod from the steering box out the the left tire. still not right.
jacked the front end up off the ground and checked , the steering wheel will make less then 3/4 of a turn to the right to a hard stop when turning to the left the steering wheel will make just over 1 & 1/2 turns to a hard stop.
I have redone the ross steering box with the upgrade, Set it up as per the info from here and I should have done it right. BUT now I'm thinking ( should not try that to long ) that I may need to go back into the steering box and adjust the steering gear follower as I think that when turning to the right I run out of gear movement .
If I removed the gear follower and move the steering wheel about a 1/2 turn to the right and reinstall the follower will that get a tighter turn to the right?

If I remember correctly, they were designed to steer tighter to the left then to the right, being that you would cut your lawn mostly with left turns, and that you would be able to cut tightly around trees, as the mower discharges to the right.

Hope this makes sense, it sounds good in my head but may not to others.

Thanks for the reply. I think you are right about the turning, but I just don't know if mine is set right? When turning to the right I need a lot more room then I think it should. I'm going to play with the steering box a little more and see if I can close it up some. I have added 18" to the wheel base so I know that I need a bigger turning radius , But when turning to the right I need a lot more . Will have to look into what a stock 123 needed to do a 360 left and right , then I will see what I have now.

Some added info per Google
The standard turning circle for a CC123 is approximately 6'8" ,Turning circle refers to the turning path which should be the same for broth Right and Left hand turns under normal operating conditions .

Now my wheel base is 18" over factory because of the modifications I've done to it, so when I checked my tight Left hand turn it is approximately 12' .
My tight Right hand turn is about 20'.
So I do need to look into what I have going on, was going to take it the the steam show to run around on But not when I need 40 Ac. to turn around on.
