782 no spark coil question
Good day. I have a 782 (red) that has no spark on either plug. A test light on the negative side of the coil flashes on off when cranked over. The coil tests 4.2 ohms on the primary side but is infinite when measuring from primary to secondary side of coil. This is a twin coil. Does any one know what the resistance on the coil should be. I was assuming the coil is bad but ordered a replacement from off of Amazon and it tests the same.

Google was my friend. Coil testing starting page 32 assuming you have series II. Not sure if series I may be different. |
Thank you . That resource from Kohler site is exactly what I was looking for. Looks like on the dual output coils for secondary you measure across the 2 outputs and not from primary to secondary like on old car coils looks like my coil is out of spec as it is half the resistance it should be when measuring it the proper way. Thanks again for pointing me to that resource.
