mower deck question
 

I have a 44A mower deck from my previous 1650 tractor. I now have a 782 tractor. Other than the larger used belt on the 782 is it the same mower deck? Can I just change out the top center pulley to the type used on the 44C? Has anyone done this change over and or can it be done?

You will also need to change the idler pulleys in the mule drive to the 5/8" versions. You actually might need the 82 series mule drive, as they are slightly different.

I already replaced the pulleys on the mule drive for the 5/8 belt. What about changing the pulley on the mower?

Yep, you definitely have to change that...the 5/8" belt is not going to work on a 3/8" pulley.

Is the inner undercarriage a little different where it slides into the front eyelets? I was thinking that was also different.

Yes, it can. The spindle is otherwise identical. The 82 series subframe is slightly different. The best way to find out if it'll work or not would be to actually mount the deck to the tractor and see what issues you run into...
