QA42A question

Need a little advice. I bought a QA42A from Craigslist, it's in nice shape but when mounting it up on my 782 today I noticed that the drive pulley on the sno-blower is much narrower than the PTO pulley on my tractor. I got the drive belt with the snowblower, but it's much too narrow and it's also too long to fit my tractor. I have the operators manual with it and it has handwritten on the front that the V-belt is a Uniroyal #4L310. Can someone tell me if I need to change the drive pulley on the QA42A and if so would you have the part number? Also what belt will this take?
The day started out with a trip to the dealer to replace the drive shaft and all the couplers when I noticed the shaft wobbling rather badly. That is all taken care of, now to get the snow-blower mounted and working properly.

You need to swap the pulley on the thrower to accept a 5/8" belt.....Its been brought up numerous times here in the past, but I cant remember the part number off hand...

Your dealer should be able to tell you which pulley you need.

EDIT: I just looked it up for you on the Cub Cadet website, and it gives 2 part numbers: IH 485247-R91 for model 700-1650 tractors
IH 78055-C2 for model 482-782 tractors (you need this one)

The QA42A was NEVER intended for use on any of the 82 Series Cubs. The correct snowthrower would be the QA36B or the QA42B.

Two differences between the QA42A and the QA42B. One is the drive pulley and two is the linkage arms.

The correct drive pulley would be IH-78055-C1.

The correct drive belt would be IH-78056-C1

Attached is the correct Upper Link Arm - IH-79011-C1

The later QA36A and QA42A throwers have the curved upper links already.

NEVER intended, but WILL work just fine with the right pulley...

Thanks for all the help. I called the dealer this morning and it's no problem to get the pulley and the belt, but the upper link arms are discontinued and not available. My upper link arms are straight, so they need to be replaced. Does anyone know where I may be able to get two of these? Not snowing yet, but it's always good to be prepared

FWIW,
If you have the ability to heat and bend them like the ones in the previous post, and add about 2" they will work.
Just drill another hole in the 2" you added, maybe 1-1/2 from the existing hole.
Mine works well.
Hope this helps
