axle spacers
has anybody used axle spacers to give their cub a wider footprint, I have a hillside I need to mower next summer and I'd like to do it with one of my cubs. If you used them did you like them and where did you get them at?

I think dual rear wheels would be more effective in my opinion. Most wheel spacers are not very thick.

I agree with Matt. Dual wheels are the way to go.

Keep in mind the tractor will get harder to steer if you extend the front spindles like that. I believe ol'George has power steering on his 782, so this probably wasn't a concern for him.

I got a 149 the other day and I want to set it up to do my mowing at some property I have, part of it is a big hillside, till this point I've been using a finishing mower on back of a IH 574 to do it. the 149 would most deffantly be easier to move around. |
Using duals as opposed to one set of wheels spaced way out reduces the bending stress where the axle flange is connected to the axle.
This is the only place I'm aware of that sells them new. They are available used occasionally but they aren't cheap when they do show up for sale. |
I've got 1/4" spacers on my rear wheels for my GT2544.... Extrememotorworks has them for the rears for 4 and 5 lug wheels...
