Wheel weight question

I just got a set of 35 lb weights and have a question. When I went to put them on, I noticed that there is no space for the valve stem on my tires to fit. So when the weight is bolted on, it will be pushing the stem over. Is this normal? Am I missing something? Will it damage the seal on my valve stem? The weights are for 12 inch wheels (and that's what I have).

I would not think that is normal. Do you have a picture of the weights?

I will in 5 minutes, stay tuned!

I see that there's an extra notch, but it's not far enough out on the wheel. The weights are Sears brand. Has anyone had this problem before? maybe my valve stems stick out further than they should?

Those look like they are designed for the valve stem to be further back in the wheel and not where the cub valves are. Do they press hard against the valve stem? If so you may not be able to use them. I am sure someone in here has dealt with that style before and will chime in..

It doesn't seem to crush completely, but it leans em over pretty good. I don't think it could damage the tire, but I'd rather not constantly be dealing with leaking valve stems.

can you turn the wheel around with the valve stem inside? Will that increase the offest too much?

Those really look like they are for 10" wheels on account of the attachment bolt spacing.

What is the distance between the bolt holes?
Should be around 8-1/2 center to center.
