Loader on a 72 ?

I have a loader on my 125 .Even after making a foot pedal for the hydro I still can't help thinking that a gear drive would be more convenient. I would really like to put it on a 124,but i don't have one. I do have a 72 however. I no its a smaller motor, but the 125 doesn't labor hard when i'm using the loader.Other than that it's still a narrow frame tractor so every thing should fit. any opinions or comments welcome. Please don't be to hard on me if you think i'm nuts. :HeadScratch:

Yup, you're nuts...

But it doesn't have anything to do with horse power, someone else here has a loader on a 7 HP Cub (can't remember who it is right now) and you're right it really doesn't take that much hp to run mine either.

The problem is the gear drive thing, I have one on a 122 and I can't wait to get it put on a hydro. Wait until you are raising and curling the bucket while backing away from a pile and turning around all at the same time, you'll wish you had your hydro back...

I guess it really depends on what you're doing with it, but you don't see many Caterpillar loaders with gear drive transmissions.

With both being NF it should bolt right up. Looking forward to your progress.

My loader was on a 124; I can't really imagine making it any more cumbersome. Maneuvering a gear drive tractor with a loader is quite a chore. The hydro with foot control is the way to go...it's not going to get any easier.

On the 125 I think I need to gt\et in by the hydro and redo the linkage. Part of my prob is there is to much travel forward and back before the tractor moves.Maybe I'll try the loader on the 72 wile I take the 125 apart.the loader doesn't look that hard to switch. After all i have both tractors to play with it can't hurt to try it. If I like it on the 125 better I will put it back on.

I know 2 guys with a loader on a 72. I wouldn't care if it was on a hydro or gear drive. I just want one right now haha
