I know this site deals with older cadets, but.
Due to a fire in which my old sears garden tractor burned up I am now the proud owner of said 2550 with a mower deck and 42 inch snow blower.
This is what I would like to know, can a sleeve hitch be put on the series tractor? I has a spring assist lift for the mower deck. The dealer has been no help on this at all so any responce will be useful.

Thanks
Russ

The Cub Cadet site lists one for it.

I've got a sleeve hitch on my 2544, I'll post some pics when I get home, or I probably have a post showing it somewhere on here.... The sleeve hitch is electric. I use a 10" brinly plow with no problems.

I put a sleeve hitch from sears on mine, not much was required to modify it and it was for a older model so I got it for $70. Told my neighbor that they had another one and he got it for $50 a week later. seems to work good with
a box scraper, that all I have used with it so far.:Huh::Huh:

Pictures would be a big help. I can do most any modifications needed if I just knew where to start.:American Flag 1:

All I had to do is open up the holes for access to filler and override lever, then
I drilled out holes for upper back panel mounts and fed larger bolts thru from inside and locked them down with nuts, spaced for outer edges and used washers to catch and tightened them down. By leaving spacer out underneath and using it to sandwich original hitch the top laid back and it clears fenders fine. I realize that you can't see that as fenders are off to repair cracks in them at this time.

:biggrin2.gif::biggrin2.gif: WOW I managed to upload pictures!:biggrin2.gif::biggrin2.gif:

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the pictures. I think I can salvage the sleeve hitch from my old sears and with a little tinker work it should do the job.

The electric lift is way out of my price range.

this isn't the best pic, but maybe you can get an idea. I've got a bunch more I've just got to get to them. Any CCC/MTD hitch "should" work without too much modification like has been said and done. Mine was from another Cub that I got from a member on here, it's not officially for a 25XX series. But it works and works good... :)
