1811 Starter
I just replaced my starter on my 1811, I followed the thread from Matt and made a wrench to remove the bottom nut, it worked well, but I also removed the 3 bolts on the starter side of the motor mount plate and loosened the other 3 bolts then with a small hydraulic jack I was able to raise the motor enough to make it easier to get the starter out.
I got the starter from DR electric, it works great and best prices I found, I also had bought my starter for my Boat a few years ago and was very happy with their products and service. Without that wrench I do not think it would be possible to remove the bottom nut. Thanks Matt Jim |
I have pulled the starter out of my 784 before without loosening anything up. It was a major PITA and the cuss words were fluent....:biggrin2:
Lifting the motor slightly does have it's advantages. |
