kt 17 vs mv 18 s
Hello guys I have a question about the kt 17 engine, is it the same as a mv18s if not what is the differance Thanks

KT-17 has points and coil ignition and is horizontal shaft. KT-17 series I has a low-pressure oil pump and spray-lubed rod bearings. The Series II is full pressure lube. The MV-18 is a vertical shaft engine with magneto ignition and full pressure lube.

Thanks Matt after posting the question I did a search and found that subject had been beat to death :beatdeadhorse:The reason I asked was to determine whether to swap out motors in 1811 since I cant find a good used m18 without breaking the bank

It uses Mahle FORGED pistons of robust design. There were also running improvements in its design, like a 30* valve angle. Thus the “Magnum” term really meant better/improved.
