Anyone with Brinly box scraper experiance...
I am considering a box scraper for my 100 to help grade the driveway and I am concerned that the Brinly and Agrifad are not heavy duty enough for my job. My drive way is rutting and comprised of ledge pack, which is very hard when compacted....
Any thoughts??? :bigthink: Thanks, Rob |
Blade/box duty

Rob,if you could find a vintage Brinly rear blade like I use to have(wished I never got rid of it but went with tractor I sold)it worked very well even with a 7 hp Kohler power plant! It is heavy built and using the manual lift it got old quick. I did a electric lift conversion on the tractor, worked OK but later it was removed and replaced with a hydraulic pump/lift option and performed with outstanding results! Blade will angle left or right or a complete 180 for pushing in reverse. I think it is called a tool bar and had a roller type attachment that hooked to the rear of the blade, also on the blade it has sides on each side and a removable scarfer or rippers like a box blade.

I just bought a 42" sleeve hitch blade from Aaron at xtreme motor works. It's very well built and the price is great. Mine isn't here yet hopfully tomorrow, I'll let you know more about it and post some picture's as soon as I get it. I talked to Aaron about it before I bought it to make sure it would do what I wanted. I'm going to use for my drive and some back filling at camp. Aaron said it should do that with no problem. His is made with a replaceable cutting edge, which is very nice. He has them in 42" and 54" on his site check them out I think you'll be impressed.

I use this pull behind drag to level my stone driveway, any large area that I'm seeding/reseeding lawn and radio control off road dirt tracks and garden tractor pulling tracks.
