E-clip size
 

Anyone know off hand what is the size of the E-clip on the arm from the carb that attaches to the governor arm?
I call it an E-clip or a retaining clip maybe?

They want like $3.08 each!
I think it is 1/4". We have some here at work. I might try the 1/4" ones and see how they work.

I think the size is listed in the parts lookup. It would be worth checking.

For stuff like that I buy the assortments at Harbor Fright and Tractor Supply...then use whatever fits best. It isn't worth making an order to anyone for the small stuff like that, and occasionally the shafts are worn enough ya need to go one size smaller anyway...

I would just take the linkage arm off the tractor and hop on down to the local NAPA or hardware store and have one fitted. You might end up paying a hole 25 cents or free if you know them. Last fall I got a half dozen of them at my local NAPA store for 50 cents. I do not remember the size unfortunately.

I'm almost certain they are 3/16". I bought a couple at TSC. They were in the small part bins in the isle with the bulk bolts.
